Anne's Celebrity Playlist

So we did this on my family blog and I thought I would post it here. We had to put a celebrity type picture with it as well. So here it is:

1. Hero – Mariah Carey
This has been my favorite song since I was a kid. I can remember singing it at the top of my lungs in the car with Mom, Dad, Kim and Marnie.
2. The Way You Love Me – Faith Hill
This reminds me of driving in the Expedition with all my friends on our weekends out. I used to sing it at the top of my lungs as well, but in monotone and for some reason we always started cracking up laughing because of it.
3. Somewhere Over the Rainbow – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
This is one of my favorite slow songs as a parent. Especially because the minute you put it on, both Andrew and Beck quiet down and eventually fall asleep. It is played A LOT on road trips.
4. Forever and For Always – Shania Twain
This is Peter and my song and has been our phrase like Mom and Dad’s 14.
5. Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) – Dixie Chicks
This is one of my new favorite old songs that is the best lullaby for a little boy. I sing it to Andrew and Beck a lot.
6. Shed A Little Light – James Taylor
This song always reminds me of Dad and his little movements to it. I think of that every time I hear it.
7. Yellow – Coldplay
Being my favorite color, I jumped on this CD when it first came out. I think that was the point of which I started liking Coldplay.
8. Dreaming with a Broken Heart – John Mayer
I just like the song altogether. And it makes me think of Twilight in my own little way.
9. Waterfall – Jon Schmidt
This is one of the most awesome piano songs. I wish I could play like this. I put this on and it makes me instantly relax.
10. All We Ever Find – Tim McGraw
I think that this song is how a relationship should be. It makes me love to be married.
11. Cowboy Take Me Away – Dixie Chicks
This is such a fun song to sing to. I can remember going with Marnie and the Gills to this concert. It was such a blast.
12. Wide Open Spaces – Dixie Chicks
Another Dixie Chick song but this song reminds me of my first year of college. I used to listen to a lot of music on my drives home from school and this was one I would listen to and sing to a lot. I think at that time I needed space to put my feelers out and find myself.

We have a walker folks

Well, I can say that Beck is walking now. I am catching him more and more really walking on his own. He has just been stubborn about it and he is finally catching on to it.

Andrew has begun potty training but I think it is going to be more of a gradual process. When I tried to push the no diaper, all big boy underwear, he really got stubborn and wouldn't even go near the bathroom. But so far he has been going every 1/2 hour on the toilet, so that is exciting for us. Also good news is that we have our old Andrew back sleep wise. He is finally going to sleep himself with out the objections of wanting us to stay in with him. It helps that we got a light switch lock so now he can't play with the light switch. It is awesome.

Beck is not sleeping so well, so I think I am going to have to minimize the sleeping during the day. He is just waking up too much during the night thinking it is time to play. He has started shake his head no all the time and thinks it is the most hilarious thing.

Some funnies that have happened recently:

With Beck screaming, I have tried to control it by flicking his forehead to get the idea that it is not a thing he wants to do. So Andrew caught on and one day I caught him punch Beck in the head and say "NO SCREAM BECK!" Needless to say, I have stopped the flicking and funny enough the screaming is getting to be less and less.

Beck likes to play with open doors and he likes to shut them. Andrew was on a timeout and Itold him to come to me when he was done. Beck and I were back in my bedroom and Beck was playing with the door. I have told Andrew time and time again to not shut the door while I am in the room because I want Beck to have the ability to come in. Well Andrew walked into the room and saw that Beck was trying to shut the door and said " No shut the door Beck. No No"

Beck has begun to pick up on many different things but mainly the Wii. He knows that you have to turn the wheel to play as he watches Andrew play MarioKart all the time. So when he gets ahold of the remote he starts turning it like a wheel. It is pretty cute.

As for volleyball, the first tournament that I ran this last weekend was a success and we had a lot of compliments about how it was run very well. It really made me feel good to know that we are doing this for the kids and it is going well. The next tournament will be on the 31st and my team will be playing then and I will also be running it. We just may have a shortage of courts so we are in the midst of finding more courts.

Peter's studying is going well and he continues to study daily to be able to get it all in. We are definitely excited to see what the future holds for us.

We have begun painting the inside of our house and we want to have the living area all finished by the end of the month. We are doing it pretty much all white/grey with 2 accent walls of blue and green. While Mom and Dad were here, we went and got some curtains to put on the back sliding door instead of the crappy vertical blinds we had there before. They go up tonight as well as beginning to tape up all the cabinets so I can paint the kitchen. We figure that we are probably going to own the house for a while so we might as well start getting the things done that we want.

Anyways, Beck needs attention and I need to get things done around the house. We love you all and miss you tons!

Children

Yes that is the title of my blog, Children. I have come to learn that going on vacation can completely change a 2 year old's sleep habits and fears. Andrew now thinks there are sharks living in his room and is completely terrified to go to sleep alone. I asked Peter last night why this happened. He replied "Maybe it is because we have had it WAY TOO EASY." I guess I am beginning to come to terms with it and we do a shark hunt in the room nightly...he even had to sleep with his shark shirt last night which I think helped.

Beck is soooo close to really walking. He will take a couple steps here and there, stand up in the middle of the floor unassisted, and drink and eat just standing there. He is so close that I would see it happening before he turns one on the 30th.

We are happy to be home and getting somewhat back into our daily routine. We got a snow storm the last two days so there hasn't been much leaving of the house. Andrew is only allowed to play 45 minutes of Mario Kart daily. I will say he doesn't quite understand just yet but the fits are getting better everyday.

Peter has begun studying for his PE exam that he takes at the end of April. It is a big deal and I am trying to be a supportive wife and allow him to get all the studying he needs. 2 guys from his work just took it and didn't pass so I am trying to allow him get all he wants done. He starts up a review course down at BSU at the end of the month which will be every Tuesday night until the test date. Please pray for him as he studies that he will know everything or know where everything is in the books he gets to take in with him so that he may pass. If he passes, it is huge for him and he would then be a Licensed Engineer which could get him a lot more opportunities job wise.

Volleyball should have started up again last night but practices were cancelled due to the snow and ice. We have a meeting about this Grassroots League that we are putting on(I am co-administrator) tonight. Lets hope it goes well being that it is the 1st year we are doing this.

Anyways, I should get dinner on the table and get ready for this meeting. We can't wait to see Mom and Dad later this month.
