Boise

Things are going great over here in Boise. We are getting a bit of a cold spell this week as we will not see temperatures above 50 for about the next week. I will say I am excited for the cold weather so I can wear long sleeve stuff without sweating like a dog but I am not excited in that it will be cold for a while.

The Half marathon went well. My joints hurt so bad afterwords though. I am healed up from it all though. I will say I have been a slacker since as I have not gone running once. The official time was 2:30:55 (I think that is how you write it). Not a super fast pace but I did run the entire thing. It was down by the prison so basically just desert and not much to look at but it was fun at the same time. There are 2 steeper hills at the very end that we had to climb and I am proud to say I ran the entire race even up those hills. That was my main goal other than just finishing. I will say I am all for doing it again. I can't believe I said that but it keeps me in shape and I will say it is fun. It would probably been that much better had I had someone else to do it with. Maybe next time. By the way, are we making up a team for Hood to Coast next year yet???

Halloween was fun. Andrew had a blast running door to door to trick or treat. He actually would say it to the people at the door. We had a late night playing games at a friend's house but the boys knocked out while we were there. So I didn't feel like a horrible parent after all.

Beck is getting closer and closer to walking. He stands by himself for a couple seconds before falling. He is getting bigger and I can't believe he is 9 months already. Time flies!

Beck has a habit of when he wakes up he starts pounding on the changing table/wall. I woke up the other day to this and then heard Andrew yelling at Beck "Night Night Beck! You are Killing me!!!" over and over. All I could do was laugh because I say that to Beck sometimes when he won't go down for naps.

I have tried on and off to get Andrew to potty train and it works for a day or 2 and then Andrew refuses to go at all. I am trying not to force it but it would be nice to have it done by Christmas. Any tips???

We are doing well and Club volleyball starts up this week. Peter is not to excited because I will be so busy but it comes with the job. Anyways, Beck is pounding on the wall from his crib which basically means get me outta here...I AM AWAKE!

2.5 weeks to go...Boise

Well the title refers to the half marathon I am running in on October 25th. Hopefully it will go well. I will admit my training hasn't been the best these past 2 weeks but I still feel good when I do run so we'll see how the race turns out. I have been having some knee pain but I talked to the sports trainer at the high school I coach at and he says it is just from the constant pounding. But it isn't bad at all really, I can still run comfortably, it just hurts after.

Volleyball has been a little stressful and drama-filled but things have improved greatly. Our last home game is tonight and we only have one more match after today before the District Tournament. From then on we will see how far we get. We are 2-10 which doesn't sound good but that is better than last year. So we have improved and hopefully we can end with 2 more wins under our belts. We did play in a varsity tournament this last weekend and we ended 11th out of 36 teams which was really good.

Club Volleyball starts up on the 3rd of November with tryouts so I don't get much of a break but I am super excited for club this year as we will have a really good group of girls.

The boys are doing great. Andrew is on an Aladdin watching kick right now and wants to watch it like 4-5 times a day. I have had to regulate that. Actually I just had to get up to turn it off because he just came and told me it was over. He is saying more and more stuff everyday and it is weird to see how much he is comprehending and remembering. He definitely is soaking things up like a sponge. Beck is beginning to cruise along furniture, much to Andrew's dismay. He is chasing Andrew constantly trying to play with Andrew's books and toys that he has brought up to the couch. He has 2 teeth already and 2 more that will break thru any day now. It is crazy how much faster he is doing everything.

Peter had to head out of town this week for a project with work up in Moscow, ID. He is going to head to Spokane for the weekend after being in Moscow so that he can see our nephew be blessed and visit with his family. He is loving work and even though it is stressful and busy at times, he still enjoys it.

Well hopefully I will update more frequently but we will see.

Beck Growing Up

Beck recently has begun crawling, but to add on top of that he is pulling himself up onto things. I caught these pictures today. He was so proud of himself. So Beck the other night was tired and so I went and laid him down in the pack n play in our room. He hadn't really started pulling himself up consistently so we hadn't taken the bassinet part off. Sure enough I hear him crying as he normally does, so I went in to check on him only to find him on the floor. He had basically jumped out of the pack n play. Thank goodness he didn't get hurt! Needless to say we took the bassinet part of of both pack n plays and we are being very careful now.

Boise

Now that I have overloaded the blog with pictures, I figured I needed to post also.

Our trip to Rexburg was very fun. I am so glad that I decided to go even though I didn't get much sleep, but then again, when do you get sleep when visiting family. It was good to see Mckenzie and Melia...and I guess Kim and Treven;). Andrew had a blast getting to know Melia more and it was fun to watch them play and fight and made me think of Isaac and Jane.

I will say it was a fun summer visiting family, but it is nice to be home and have the boys back on a good sleep schedule. We are in the middle of getting Beck to sleep thru the night and so far so good and I will tell you (as long as I go to bed at a reasonable time) I am feeling much more well rested and am loving not having to get up multiple times during the night.

Beck is now scooting around and rolling all over the place. He moves pretty well and it is exciting to see him finally being able to reach things he was getting frustrated over before. He is definitely trying to keep up with Andrew and loves to play with him. He is sooo close to officially crawling, just not yet. We just now have to regulate Andrew from taking toys from Beck now that he can get to them on his own.

Some funny things Andrew has done lately:

I was chasing Andrew around the house like we do all the time but when I started getting tired, I laid down on my back to rest, but to also act like I was dead. Andrew came over and said "uh oh!" and he tried to pull on me to get me to play again. When I didn't move, he bent down and gave me a kiss. It was so funny I had to wake up and play with him some more. I don't know where he got that since the only disney princess movie we have is Little Mermaid and I don't remember that happening in it.

Beck has now become a toy for Andrew now that he knows he can roll him around. So everyonce in a while we will look over and Andrew is rolling Beck across the room and back, but Beck completely enjoys every minute of it.

It is fun to see the two boys interacting as much as they are. It will be fun to see as they continue to grow how good of friends they will be.

High school volleyball starts up this Friday and is over by the end of October. It should be fun, especially with the fact that I get paid :). This is just the beginning of my busy time and it will be nice to be busy again especially with volleyball. Club ball starts shortly after the hs season ends and I am looking forward to that also.

I am still in the midst of training for my half marathon. I had to run a 5K the other day because it was that week in the training, however I couldn't find any official ones to run so I ran my own personal 5K. I did it in 29:13 minutes and was pretty happy with that. Peter made sure to remind me before I headed out that I had to do it at a race pace and in doing that I got my personal best mile time of 9:00 minutes (according to my nike plus system). I still have about 10-11 weeks left before the race but I am so excited to be running (wow did I just say that?!?) and can't wait to do the race.

We are still trying to sell the house. We are lowering the asking price a little bit to see if it changes the amount of people coming out to see it. We aren't in a huge rush to get out of the house as it is working the way it is but it is always nice to have some more room to stretch out it. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

We are open to any visitors, whether they be long or short. We love you guys and are so glad to have family like we do.
